The predicted salary is between 12 - 13 £ per hour.

Our client is looking for a personal assistant for their son, who requires support accessing the community and with recreational activities, as well as with some personal care. Our client’s son has Autism, is non-verbal in communication and uses a wheelchair. He is also PEG fed – experience with PEG feeding desired. Our client’s son enjoys trips out on the bus as well as in the car and watching videos on his iPad.

Responsibilities:

  • Be patient and engaging; create activities and be proactive in supporting daily routines, helping access the community and recreational activities, and assisting with personal care as needed.
  • Support outings by bus and car.
  • Respond to the young person’s needs in a calm and supportive manner, including management of challenging behaviours when they arise.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Autism, non-verbal communication support, wheelchair use, and PEG feeding is desirable.
  • Patience, engagement, and the ability to create activities and be proactive.
  • Enhanced DBS disclosure is required; the employer will fund the DBS process.

Hours: 6 hours per week term time; 9 hours per week during school holidays, to be worked outside of school hours.

Pay: £12.66 per hour.

Location: Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire.
