About the team

The Sales Compensation Team at Stripe is responsible for the overall compensation strategy, design, and payment administration for the global sales organization.

We ensure that Stripe's objectives align with the compensation program and that our sales teams are paid accurately and timely.

We provide thought leadership for the go-to market initiatives so that performance and compensation are effectively correlated.

The Sales Comp team partners closely with the revenue generating and support functions across Stripe to support the success of our sales efforts.

Stripe's Sales Compensation Team has an opening for a role that will be responsible for the compensation calculation and payment process for the sales organization.

Working as a team of three, this role will play a critical role in ensuring the sales team is correctly paid on schedule.

This will include the following steps: processing data, validating calculations, communicating compensation and handling clarification requests.

This role will require patience for handling sensitive compensation issues with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and on time payments to roles with variable sales compensation structures.
  • Own and conduct regular audits of incentive compensation management (ICM) tool including: personnel set up, plan management, processed data, and commissions calculations.
  • Process data, ensure correct calculations, communicate compensation and handle clarification requests.
  • Be the first responder to compensation inquiries and support escalation when needed.
  • Leverage both Google Sheets and an ICM tool to complete the payment process.

Have an in-depth understanding of the sales function, product priorities, and individual sales team characteristics.

  • BS or BA in Business, Finance, Economics, Math, or Statistics.
  • 2+ years of experience in a sales compensation payment role.
  • Experience with CRM (e. g. Salesforce) and ICM (e. g. Captivate IQ, Varicent, Xactly) tools.
  • Experience with reporting tools, SQL query optimization, and Tableau.
  • Very organized and attentive to detail, with excellent prioritization skills that allow you to consistently deliver quality results on time.
  • Ability to handle the complexities of an end to end commissions close, including managing multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to address questions and concerns quickly and patiently.
  • Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with SOX Compliance and process documentation.
  • Experience in Sales or Sales Operations roles.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information effectively and empathetically to sales staff and cross functional teams.
