Early-Stage Head of Marketing / Marketing Generalist
Early-Stage Head of Marketing / Marketing Generalist
Meet Your Idols is a new startup offering once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for fans to connect with creators and celebrities through video calls and exclusive in-person experiences. We’re building something exciting and community-driven, and now we’re looking for our first marketing hire to help us grow.
Once you apply
We will follow up and ask you to provide the following:
• Links to social media accounts you’ve managed
• 3 examples of your most creative posts
• 3 posts with the highest engagement (with captions)
If you have a portfolio, please send that as well. If not, links are perfectly fine. We’ll only be reviewing applicants who submit this information after applying.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Marketing Generalist who will act as the early-stage Head of Marketing. This is a foundational role — you’ll shape our brand, run campaigns, and eventually build a marketing team. You’ll be fully hands-on and responsible for all aspects of marketing execution.
What You’ll Do
- Manage our Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter/X accounts
- Produce social media posts, short-form video content, and stories
- Help interview and build the marketing team
- Set up email marketing, landing pages, and tracking tools
- Analyze what drives user sign-ups, conversions, and retention
What We Offer
We are a very early-stage startup, so the role is equity-based currently. However, we want to ensure the fit is right on both sides. That’s why we’re proposing a 2-week paid trial (part-time/freelance) to start. We’ll agree on a scope and fair rate together. If it goes well, we’ll discuss a longer-term role with equity and more responsibilities.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience managing social media for a brand, creator, or media company
- Proven understanding of storytelling, especially what works on social media
- Confident working across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook
- Strong copywriting skills with the ability to write compelling, on-brand captions and titles
- Familiarity with platform tools such as Meta Suite, TikTok Creator Tools, and scheduling platforms like Later or Metricool
- Experience with UGC marketing
- Experience collaborating with editors, influencers, or creatives in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in newsletter writing, live social formats, or community-led storytelling
How to Apply
If you\’re ambitious, optimistic, and excited to take full ownership of early-stage marketing in a fast-moving startup, we’d love to hear from you.
If you\’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn\’t align perfectly with every requirement on the Job Description, please apply anyway – you may just be the right candidate for this or other roles in our wider team.
