The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for building the UK market from the ground up. This is a hunter-focused position centred on new business generation, where you will identify opportunities, open doors with new customers, and develop long-term commercial relationships across the pharma and biotech sectors. Operating as an individual contributor, you will manage the full sales cycle - from prospecting through to close - while collaborating with technical and international teams to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development across the UK within pharma and biotech organisations
  • Identify, target, and win new accounts through proactive outreach and relationship building
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including pipeline development, forecasting, and contract negotiation
  • Develop and execute a territory strategy aligned with company growth objectives

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record in new business sales, ideally within validation, qualification, or technical equipment
  • Experience selling into regulated environments such as pharma or biotech
  • Demonstrated hunter mentality with evidence of winning and developing new accounts
  • Strong commercial acumen with a structured approach to territory planning and pipeline management
  • Technical aptitude; a science or engineering background is advantageous
  • Self-motivated and comfortable operating autonomously in a remote environment
  • Minimum of approximately 5 years’ relevant B2B sales experience
