About the Role
As an Assistant Buyer, you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing our collections to life, supporting the Buyer to deliver an elevated, balanced, and commercially successful range that embodies our brand DNA. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and wants to grow within a modern luxury brand.
Responsibilities
Critical Path & Supplier Management
- Maintain accurate department tracking sheets and oversee the critical path to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Liaise with suppliers to gather key information — MOQs, fabric and cost prices — and ensure all data is logged accurately.
- Lead critical path meetings, ensuring progress across Buying, Design, and Technical teams.
- Manage fabric and trim approvals with the Buyer, keeping quality and timing front of mind.
- Review weekly delivery updates and flag any risks to timelines or product availability.
Sample & Fit Management
- Oversee the end-to-end sample process — from proto to shoot — ensuring every detail is accurate and on schedule.
- Manage the fit list and fitting sessions, coordinating attendees and capturing detailed notes and actions.
- Support shoot preparation, ensuring all samples, styling details, and fit notes are complete and accurate.
- Maintain excellent sample housekeeping, including archiving and sample sales.
Product Launch & Coordination
- Support with brochure and web launch checks, ensuring all product information is accurate and aligned with brand standards.
- Collaborate with the Buyer on product copy and assist with web content input.
- Capture key actions from intake and debrief meetings and ensure smooth follow-through across teams.
- Contribute to sustainability data tracking and seasonal competitor analysis.
Team & Administrative Support
- Oversee the Buying Admin Assistant and work experience team.
- Coordinate fit model bookings, departmental schedules, and meeting logistics.
- Review and approve sample and courier invoices for sign-off.
- Build strong, professional relationships across internal teams and with external partners.
- Step in for the Buyer when required to ensure continued momentum.
Skills
- Previous experience in a Buying Admin or Assistant role within a premium or luxury retail brand.
- Meticulous attention to detail with exceptional organisational skills.
- Confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively across teams and with suppliers.
- Commercially aware with a strong understanding of product, fit, and brand alignment.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to manage data accurately and efficiently.
- Calm and adaptable under pressure, with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
- A genuine passion for the ME+EM aesthetic and our modern, intelligent approach to design.
