About the role:

The Stockroom Manager is a key leader within the store environment, responsible for driving all back-of-house operations with precision, professionalism, a commercial mindset and a commitment to excellence. This role ensures the accurate receiving, storing, replenishment, and movement of merchandise while maintaining optimal stock levels to support sales performance. The Stockroom Manager leads and develops the stock team, champions system and process improvements, and acts as the primary liaison between the store, head office, and external partners for all stock-related matters. They ensure that daily operations, stock audits, and omnichannel fulfilment are completed efficiently and to brand standard, all while upholding health, safety, and security compliance. The Stockroom Manager supports both the sales floor and customer communication when required, representing the brand with integrity at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Systems & Operations
    • Lead all stockroom operations, ensuring accurate receiving, storing, processing, and replenishment of merchandise.
    • Be an expert in EPOS and ERP Inventory Management platforms, and confidently identify and champion new processes and system improvements.
    • Oversee omnichannel fulfilment, ensuring orders are processed, packaged, and dispatched to luxury brand standards.
    • Maintain stockroom compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring safe storage, organised inventory, and functional equipment.
    • Manage inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, audits, and discrepancy investigations.
    • Drive operational efficiency by monitoring negative stock, ensuring ticketing accuracy, managing defective goods, and implementing corrective actions.
    • Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose solutions to optimise space, accessibility, and replenishment processes.
    • Act as a key systems user and trainer, supporting onboarding and continuous development for all stock-related processes.
    • Maintain strong communication with Head Office teams (Retail Operations, Merchandising) and external partners (delivery providers, warehousing).
  • Leadership
    • Lead, motivate, and develop the stockroom team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and to brand standard.
    • Coach team members in best practice, identifying training needs and delivering development programmes to build skills and knowledge.
    • Set clear expectations and priorities, conducting performance reviews and providing continuous feedback.
    • Act as the voice of the stock team within the store and wider business, championing continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
    • Communicate effectively with Store Management, Sales, and Visual Merchandising teams to align stock operations with business needs, product launches, and capacity planning.
    • Demonstrate exemplary professionalism in timekeeping, administration, communication, and customer care.
  • Management
    • Organise daily and weekly workflows for the stock team in line with business needs, deliveries, recalls, and new product launches.
    • Maintain optimal stock levels to support store sales goals and minimise overstock.
    • Lead and execute stock takes and cycle counts, ensuring thorough preparation, accurate reporting, and implementation of corrective measures to reduce shrinkage.
    • Review incoming product and manage stockroom layout adjustments, collaborating with Compliance and Store Management where necessary.
    • Ensure timely completion of all inventory-related tasks—including transfers, returns, reservations, and damages—while maintaining high standards of organisation and accuracy.
    • Uphold strict health, safety, and security protocols, controlling access and ensuring safe stockroom operations.
    • Manage customer enquiries related to stock and fulfilment when required, acting as a professional brand representative.

  • Stock Accuracy: Cycle count results, audit accuracy, shrinkage rates.
  • Operational Efficiency: Timely completion of deliveries, transfers, allocations, and omnichannel orders.
  • Team Development: Skill progression, training effectiveness, performance improvements.
  • Replenishment Quality: Stock availability, overstock control, product flow.
  • Stockroom Standards: Organisation, cleanliness, compliance, and system accuracy.
