How that money is spent will be decided locally, by a Neighbourhood Board made up of people who live and work here.We are now looking for around [10] people to join that Board.What the Board doesDecides the priorities for the area, from parks and shops to community buildings and safer streetsWrites the ten year plan for each area which goes to government in February 2027Chooses which projects get fundedChecks that the work actually gets doneWhat we are asking of youA meeting roughly every six weeks, lasting two to three hours, in [area]An hour or so beforehand to read the papersGetting out and talking to people locally about what they wantThat is about one day a month on average.Who we are looking forYou do not need qualifications, and you do not need to have been on a board before. We will give you training and support.What matters is that you know this area, that you care about it, and that you are willing to listen to people who see things differently from you.We especially want to hear from people who are not usually asked: young people, older residents, disabled people, carers, private renters, small business owners, and people from every community.The practical bitsThe role is voluntary and unpaid. We will cover reasonable expenses if cost is a barrier to your participation.
