A Self-Employed Personal Assistant is required to support a 68 year old gentleman at home and in the community on a fortnightly basis. He has a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and Autism, so someone who is reliable, patient and confident in supporting adults with cognitive conditions are essential.
The role involves supporting the client at home to ensure his safety and wellbeing. You will need to ensure he has food and drinks when needed, and provide any general assistance around the home when needed. He enjoys completing his own routines on Saturdays, including home workouts such as weights, mat exercises and Joe Wicks sessions. You will need to escort the client to a weekly social group in Walderslade from 1pm to 4pm every Saturday, except the last Saturday of each month. You are expected to stay with him for the duration of the group and bring him home afterwards. The client is vulnerable to vertigo and has experienced falls in the past. You must have up to date Manual Handling training and be confident in supporting him from the floor if required. The client also experiences occasional toileting accidents, and you will need to provide personal care when necessary.
Essential requirements:
- Self employed working status
- Hold a full, clean driving licence with access to a car
- Up-to-date enhanced DBS check
- Liability Insurance
