The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
This is a fixed term maternity cover contract for 18 months (extendable or potentially permanent if budgets allow). Medway Council is funded by the Department for Education (DfE) to coordinate free holiday activities and healthy food for children eligible for free school meals in Medway during school holidays. The role of HAF Project Manager is to commission, deliver, and evaluate the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme. You will work closely with key stakeholders and providers to ensure quality and cost‑effective provision for Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays. You will submit required data to the DfE in a timely and organised manner and follow the HAF framework.
Responsibilities
- Manage, coordinate, train and supervise staff, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to and that financial administration is timely and accurate in line with the grant award agreement.
- Develop a support and training package for delivery partners to enable quality programme delivery across Medway.
- Collaborate with the Supporting Healthy Weight team to address food, nutrition, physical activity and wellbeing agendas.
- Build strong relationships with partners, colleagues within the Council, health professionals, leisure providers, education establishments and the voluntary sector; develop a clear communication strategy to keep stakeholders informed of project stages.
- Lead and manage complex projects that deliver public health objectives, plan and secure resources, manage the project team, and identify and mitigate risks.
- Work within Medway’s Joint Local Health & Wellbeing Strategy and the Public Health Outcomes Framework to reduce health inequalities.
- Promote the Council’s vision and values when liaising with stakeholders.
- Comply with the enhanced DBS check requirements as part of the role.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience in project management and working with multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Ability to deliver and evaluate programmes within agreed frameworks and budgets.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Understanding of public health objectives and health inequalities.
- Essential criteria as defined in the job profile Levels A, B, and C; this role is at Level A with development opportunities as described in the CPF framework.
- Right to work in the UK (Medway Council cannot provide a Certificate of Sponsorship).
