Medway Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Development Officer to join our Sport Development Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, inclusive sporting opportunities that help residents become more active and engaged in their communities.
Working alongside a wide range of partners, community organisations, sports clubs, National Governing Bodies and internal teams, you will lead the development and delivery of programmes and projects that increase participation, maximise the use of our sports facilities, and contribute to the financial sustainability of Medway's leisure services.
We are looking for a proactive and innovative individual with experience in sports development, working with an NGB, school sport delivery and community engagement programmes.

Career Progression Frameworks (CPF) have been introduced for all roles at Medway Council.
These frameworks provide a mechanism for employees to take ownership of their development within their post and be rewarded accordingly.
The salary you will be offered will be at level A.
There will be further opportunity once in post to progress from level A to B, and B to C.

We are seeking a Sports Development Officer to join the team at level A.
This is the entry point of the role, so you will need to be able to demonstrate the relevant knowledge, experience and skills to get you started, but you will be supported to develop in your role through induction, probation and a supportive Performance Appraisal and Career Conversation.
All elements of level A listed within the person specification are essential.
Through your induction you will be introduced to the Career Progression Framework (CPF), which will help you to identify your areas of strength and any development needs.
