An opportunity has arisen for you to join our Inpatient nursing and rehabilitation teams at our stroke rehabilitation unit based at Endeavour Ward (Harmony House) in Chatham. The role is that of a nursing rehabilitation assistant where you will work closely with nurses and therapists to deliver care to patients requiring rehabilitation following a stroke. The role itself focuses more on delivering nursing interventions, enabling them as part of their recovery. You will be expected to work shifts which include weekends and nights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work within the clinical unit at Endeavour Suite Stroke Unit
  • Assist qualified staff by undertaking personal care duties and activities of daily living for patients
  • Assist nursing team with all nursing elements including wound care, continence management and monitoring of patients' vital signs
  • To provide and promote a high standard of fundamental care to patients
  • Report and record patient information
  • To actively participate in patients’ individual rehabilitation programmes under the guidance of the occupational therapy and physiotherapy professionals
  • To work autonomously as well as part of the team
