Qualifications
- Communicate well with residents, carers, volunteers, and ward/service staff, with compassion.
- Understand advanced food and hygiene requirements, catering procedures, practices, and equipment.
- Be flexible working across shifts covering 7 days a week on a bank contract to cover staff holidays and sickness absence.
Responsibilities
- The post holder will work as part of the catering team within Darland House, Our Zone and Harmony house, responsible for catering in line with Medway Community Healthcare CIC and NHS national standards for food preparation for patients, staff, families and carers.
- Support the kitchen team in preparing meals for 18 stroke patients on the stroke unit Endeavour, attached to the Ourzone day centre, and provide a lunch service for approximately 20-25 day centre users at Ourzone.
- Ensure hot meals are heated following correct health and safety requirements, and prepare cold meal provisions such as sandwiches, salads and jacket potatoes.
- Provide flexible shift coverage in advance as required.
Shifts Available
- 9:30 am–1:30 pm 7 days a week for lunch serving;
- 4:00 pm–6:00 pm for dinner serving.
