Overview
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and hard‑working Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the housekeeping team across our sites in Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester and Hoo.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and control day‑to‑day housekeeping operations, including organising staff rosters, sickness cover, annual leave and training.
- Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and a safe environment in line with NHS National Standards of Cleanliness.
- Open and close buildings as required, manage stock control, ordering and inventory.
- Assist the Facilities Manager with shift cover, workload management and finance related tasks such as timesheets and pay returns.
- Communicate with the Facilities Manager, estates teams and external contractors to resolve issues and maintain records.
- Promote continuous improvement by offering ideas for cleaning processes and service development.
- Maintain health and safety, infection control, COSHH and other NHS policies.
- Use computer software and office equipment to manage schedules, timesheets and reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous cleaning experience; NVQ/CSE in English and Maths (or equivalent) essential.
- NVQ/CSE in hospitality, health or working environment desirable; any cleaning certificate, competency or short‑course and continuous professional development experience is an asset.
- Supervisory or managerial experience desirable.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, adapt to changing shift patterns and support a team of all skill levels.
- Proficiency in using computer software and office equipment.
