A Day in the Life
Embark on an exciting journey with Medtronic’s Digital Technologies Business Unit, where we are at the forefront of developing cutting‑edge technology that provides real‑time support to surgeons in the operating room. At Digital Technologies, we transform operating room experiences through advanced surgical analysis systems powered by state‑of‑the‑art artificial intelligence. We are looking for a highly motivated individual contributor to join our team. In this role, you will support financial analysis, strategic planning, and decision‑making across the business, working closely with global cross‑functional teams to provide insights that support key business priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial modelling, economic analysis and evaluation of business trends, including return on investment, working capital, cash flow and performance against plan.
- Own and deliver financial planning and forecasting activities, including Annual Operating Plan (AOP), rolling forecasts (LBE) and long‑range planning, ensuring alignment across cross‑functional teams.
- Translate commercial pipeline, pricing strategies and product assumptions into financial forecasts, scenario and actionable insights.
- Prepare and present clear, executive‑ready financial analyses, consolidating financial plans and providing forward‑looking insights to leadership.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to global stakeholders, influencing decisions through data‑driven analysis, commercial insight and strategic recommendations.
- Monitor business performance across units, divisions, and geographies; perform variance analysis and identify key risks and opportunities.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial systems and reporting frameworks to support scalable, efficient and robust analysis (e.g., SAP, Power BI, OneStream).
- Improve data quality, consistency and integration across systems to support efficient and accurate planning and reporting processes.
- Provide financial oversight for the UK legal entity activities and compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Support internal controls, governance and compliance processes, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and regulatory standards.
- Lead or support cross‑functional initiatives.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Strong experience in financial planning and analysis, strategic planning, and forecasting within a complex or global environment.
- Proven ability to lead planning processes (AOP, long‑range planning, or equivalent) and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience in modelling, pricing or business case development.
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, concise and actionable insights.
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing cross‑functional decision‑making.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Power BI, OneStream or similar).
- Solid understanding of financial controls, reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- ACA/CA/ACCA qualification – Nice to have.

Medtronic offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package designed to support employees at every career and life stage. Pay range: United Kingdom: 82,400.00 GBP – 123,600.00 GBP. This position is eligible for a short‑term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
