About Medtronic Medtronic is a global leader in healthcare technology, addressing some of the most complex challenges in modern medicine. Our mission — to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life — unites more than 95,000 employees worldwide. Driven by innovation, we transform ideas into real‑world solutions that improve patient outcomes.

A Day in the Life To support the continued growth of the Affera™ Mapping System and ongoing investment in the Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) portfolio, we are seeking highly driven professionals to support the launch and adoption of innovative CAS technologies. This role will lead Affera Mapping System site initiations and ensure excellence in the rollout of the Affera platform and its associated products within assigned regions. In addition, successful candidates will act as clinical experts, supporting complex procedures and assisting the business during periods of increased clinical demand.

The Affera Clinical Development Specialists will report to the Affera Clinical Development Manager, NWE – Cardiac Ablation Solutions. You will need a full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and execution of new site launches by assessing customer needs, conducting pre‑installation evaluations, and supporting installations alongside field technical teams, including troubleshooting when required.
  • Provide advanced clinical and technical expertise to drive adoption of the Affera Mapping System and CAS portfolio across product launches, limited market releases, and broader rollouts.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, translating clinical evidence, product capabilities, and workflows into impactful training, education, and value‑based discussions.
  • Serve as the primary field lead for new and limited market product launches, coordinating procedures, resolving clinical and technical challenges, gathering field insights, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and deliver tailored training programmes for clinicians and commercial teams to support effective onboarding and smooth transition to local support structures.
  • Contribute to pre‑sales and commercial activities, including site assessments, value demonstrations, and engagement with key opinion leaders (KOLs).
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and provide actionable insights to Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Managers and Mapping Specialists to ensure successful product launches, seamless handovers, and an excellent customer experience.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Science or Medical Engineering is preferred.
  • Typically, 4+ years of relevant experience as an EP Cardiac Physiologist or in a clinical/technical role within Cardiac Electrophysiology.
  • Strong understanding of electrophysiology (EP) and ablation technologies, including their clinical applications.
  • Hands‑on clinical EP experience, including expertise in 3D mapping systems and independent support of both routine and complex EP procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong team collaboration skills.
  • Self‑motivated, organised, and proactive, with the ability to operate autonomously and support both technical and commercial objectives.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., IBHRE, EHRA, BHRS) is advantageous.
