As a member of the Clinical Research & Medical Science (CRMS) function within Medtronic's Medical Surgical Operating Unit, you provide the medical knowledge and support throughout our products life cycles. This position is external-facing and involves multidisciplinary work with every department in the organisation to support activities related to training and education, surgical performance insights, AI, and surgical robotics products. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who wants to help us make a difference by improving the standard of surgical care around the world. This position is a contract-based maternity cover.

A Day in the Life

As the internal gynaecology subject matter expert (SME) for the Digital Technologies Business Unit you will:

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with healthcare practitioners (HCPs) to provide support for product development.
  • Document surgical processes and workflows through communication with subject matter experts, surgical theatre visits, literature, and video review.
  • Collaborate with Medtronic Creative Studio COE to develop medical education content delivered on the Touch SurgeryTM ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with Medtronic's AI & Data COE to develop annotation guidelines and analyse data in support of our AI products.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Medical Affairs partners across the organisation to create and deliver multifaceted, blended surgical training pathways, incorporating the Touch Surgery ecosystem in clinical immersion courses.

Occasional travel may be required to attend conferences, meetings, and events.

Must haves:

  • Health science related degree with at least 2 years of clinical or academic experience within gynaecological surgery.
  • Ability to travel to the London office at least once per week.
  • Able to comprehend complex surgical and scientific information and communicate it in a clear and concise manner.

Nice to Haves:

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong/collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals (previous experience in managing HCP and KOL relationships are strongly preferred).
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to deadlines.
  • Previous experience in robotic-assisted surgery.
