We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented Level 2 Qualified Dispensing Services Assistants to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services.
The Role
As a Dispensing Services Assistant, you will support the efficient processing and dispensing of prescriptions within a regulated distance-selling pharmacy environment, working closely with pharmacists and the wider team to ensure patients receive their medications accurately, safely, and on time.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Accurately dispense prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Select, label, and prepare medicines for dispensing and dispatch
- Process prescription requests and patient orders using pharmacy systems
- Prepare and package medications for home delivery
- Manage stock control activities, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Maintain accurate dispensing and patient records
- Respond professionally to patient enquiries via telephone, email, and online platforms
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GPhC standards, and relevant legislation
- Help maintain a clean, organised, and compliant dispensary environment
- Support continuous improvement within the pharmacy team
What You'll Bring:
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services (or equivalent recognised dispensing qualification)
- Previous experience in a pharmacy dispensing role
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team under daily volume pressure
- Competent IT skills and experience using dispensing systems
Desirable:
- Experience working in a Distance Selling Pharmacy
- Knowledge of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
- Experience using Pharmacy Management Record (PMR) systems
- Understanding of NHS pharmacy services and regulations
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
