An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Veterinary Nurse to join a large, supportive and friendly day team within a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital. This role is perfect for someone beginning their career in the veterinary profession, with the ambition of becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

The Role:

As a Trainee Veterinary Nurse, you will work alongside experienced Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses, gaining hands-on experience in all areas of veterinary care. You will play a vital role in supporting the clinical team while developing the essential skills required for future college enrolment. This is a full-time position, working a 4-day week, and includes participation in the weekend and Bank Holiday rota.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting clinical teams with patient care and handling
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hospital
  • Ensuring patient accommodation is prepared and well maintained
  • Assisting with safe handling and restraint of animals within your competency
  • Unpacking and organising raw food deliveries
  • Replenishing consumables and managing stock rotation
  • Contributing to a high standard of care for patients and clients

Training & Development:

You will undergo comprehensive in-house training designed to equip you with the knowledge and practical skills needed to thrive at nursing college. You will be assigned a dedicated mentor to support your progress. Training focuses on building confidence and competence across all core nursing skills. Only trainees who meet the required standards will be enrolled onto college programmes, ensuring you are fully prepared for the next stage of your career.
