An established independent veterinary hospital in North West England is looking for a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its emergency and critical care (ECC) team, working alongside experienced ECC vets on first-opinion and referral inpatients overnight.
THE ROLE
- Handling out-of-hours calls and supporting emergency triage
- Assisting with acute emergency and critical care cases
- Overnight care for first-opinion and referral inpatients
- Admitting and triaging routine and emergency referrals
- Supporting complex anaesthesia and intensive patient monitoring
- Running in-house lab tests and assisting with diagnostics
- Managing feeding tubes, catheters and transfusion medicine
- Accurate clinical records and clear handovers to the day team
FACILITIES
CT, endoscopy, ultrasound, comprehensive in-house lab, infusion pumps and syringe drivers, on-site blood products, and full referral-level clinician support.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
An RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse who is:
- Passionate about emergency, critical care and inpatient nursing
- Confident working under pressure on busy night shifts
- Experienced in complex anaesthesia and critical inpatient care (or keen to develop)
- Compassionate with clients during emergencies
- A strong team player with excellent record-keeping
Experience with feeding tubes, catheters, transfusion medicine and complex anaesthesia is a bonus, not a requirement.
WHAT'S ON OFFER
- £33,000-£40,000 pro rata, depending on experience, plus bonus scheme
