The Role
We are looking for a passionate Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our growing team at Medly. This is a new role working closely with our hands-on Technical CEO and other Full Stack Engineers to architect and scale our platform as we grow rapidly. You will play a pivotal role in high-impact projects such as optimizing performance for hundreds of thousands of users, designing scalable system architecture, mentoring junior engineers, and making key technical decisions that shape our product. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone ready to take significant ownership, solve complex challenges at scale, and help power the next generation of educational technology.
Role Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable features across our web app (Next.js) and mobile app (React Native)
- Design and optimize our Python backend for high performance and reliability at scale
- Lead database architecture decisions and optimize Postgres for growing data volumes
- Own critical infrastructure on AWS, ensuring high availability and cost efficiency
- Drive technical decisions and establish best practices across the engineering team
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and other Full Stack Engineers on high-impact projects
Technical Requirements
- 3+ years of fullstack engineering experience in high-traffic production environments (100k+ users)
- Strong proficiency with Next.js and modern React patterns
- Deep knowledge of Python and building performant backend services
- Advanced SQL skills and experience optimizing Postgres at scale
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, or similar)
- Track record of building and maintaining systems that handle significant user load
