About Medly AI

We're the fastest growing EdTech startup in London, on a mission to change education forever. This is a moment where AI-native companies are reshaping entire industries. Medly is building that company for education. Since launch, we've reached over 300,000 students with retention rates that beat Duolingo, and we've delivered personalised learning with real results. We're backed by impact-focused VCs and supported by partners including UCL, Innovate UK, Microsoft, and Google.

The role

We're looking for a Humanities Learning Intern to join our London team. You'll work directly alongside our founders, our content developers, and teachers from leading UK schools to make Medly the best place to learn humanities subjects. This role sits at the intersection of content, pedagogy, and product. You'll help shape what students actually see on the platform, work with teachers to understand how humanities subjects are best taught, and help design subject-specific features that make a real difference to learning outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Review and improve humanities content on the platform across subjects like English, History, Geography, RS, and Psychology.
  • Work with teachers and pedagogy experts to understand what makes great humanities teaching, and bring that into the product.
  • Help design and shape interactive, subject-specific features that go beyond generic question-and-answer formats.
  • Pressure-test our AI tutoring on humanities content and surface where it falls short.
  • Sit in on usability sessions with students and teachers, and feed insights back into the product.

What we're looking for

  • Currently studying a humanities subject (English, History, Geography, Politics, Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, or similar), or Education, or a recent graduate in one of these fields.
  • Strong written communication. You can explain a complex idea clearly and warmly.
  • Genuine interest in pedagogy and how students actually learn, not just what they need to memorise.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback on written content.
  • Familiarity with UK exam content (GCSE, A-Level, or both) is a plus.

Bonus points

  • Tutoring or teaching experience, in any form.
  • Awareness of UK exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR) and how their specifications differ.
  • Some experience with curriculum design, lesson planning, or content writing.
  • A point of view on what makes great humanities teaching, and what most products get wrong.
  • Some product or design sensibility. You notice when a piece of UI doesn't serve the learner.

Right to work

You must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the internship. We're not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Who thrives here

  • You care about quality and take pride in work that holds up under scrutiny.
  • Curious about how students think, and willing to dig into the work to understand it.
  • Happy to take initiative. If a question or explanation isn't working, you flag it or fix it.
  • Comfortable in a startup environment. Things move quickly and priorities shift.

What you'll get

  • Paid full-time internship at the London Living Wage.
  • Mentorship from founders, content developers, and teachers shaping the next generation of learning.
  • Hybrid setup: 4 days in our central London office, Wednesdays from home.
  • Work on a product used by hundreds of thousands of students worldwide.
