At Medlock, first impressions matter—but it’s the work done overnight that makes them possible. As a Night Cleaner, you'll be the calm, reassuring presence that keeps the hotel running while the city sleeps. From helping with welcoming late arrivals and supporting guests throughout the night to preparing the hotel for a brand-new day, you'll play an essential role in creating a seamless experience around the clock. This role is about more than keeping things clean—it's about care, consistency and quiet attention to detail.
You'll take pride in working independently through the night, ensuring our public spaces are immaculate, safe and ready to welcome guests by morning. From lobbies and lounges to corridors and guest facilities, you'll deep clean, refresh and maintain the areas that shape those all-important first impressions. Alongside caring for our public spaces, you'll support the overnight operation by responding to guest requests, carrying out regular security and safety checks, assisting with luggage when needed, setting up meeting rooms and public areas for the day ahead, and helping to ensure the hotel remains secure, well-presented and running smoothly throughout the night.
Your behind-the-scenes contribution sets the tone for everything that follows. By combining exceptional standards with a genuine willingness to help, you'll ensure every guest enjoys a warm welcome, a peaceful stay and the confidence that someone is always there when they need them.
What you’ll be doing:
- You’ll take ownership of your allocated areas, carrying out both routine and deep cleaning overnight with care, consistency and strong attention to detail.
- While the hotel rests, you’ll work calmly and efficiently to ensure all public spaces are clean, refreshed and ready for the day ahead—meeting, and often exceeding, our standards.
- Working independently through the night while supporting the wider team, you’ll bring a dependable, positive approach, stepping in wherever needed to keep the hotel running smoothly.
- You’ll follow all safety, hygiene and security procedures, carrying out regular Fire Walks, handling equipment responsibly and helping to ensure the hotel remains safe, secure and well-presented throughout the night.
- You’ll balance scheduled cleaning and porter duties with unexpected guest requests and operational priorities, staying organized, proactive and one step ahead.
Your work is instrumental in preparing a hotel that feels welcoming, polished and ready to deliver an exceptional guest experience from the moment the doors open each morning. You’ll be a quiet ambassador for The Medlock, bringing our brand to life through the care you take, the details you perfect and the standards you uphold—often behind the scenes, but never without impact.
Our hotel never stops, and neither does the care behind it. We operate 365 days a year, with night shift patterns designed to reflect the rhythm of the business. Specific hours and working patterns can be discussed at interview.
About you:
- Warm, welcoming and naturally genuine in the way you care for guests and colleagues.
- Confident under pressure, with a steady presence and a touch of individuality that makes you memorable.
- An effective communicator, grounded and connected to the city you’re helping shape.
- Experienced in a fast-paced hotel operation, ideally within a premium, lifestyle or high-energy environment.
What’s in it for you:
- Join the pre-opening team for a high-profile launch within one of Manchester’s most exciting developments.
- Be part of a dynamic, fun and engaging team focused on delivering exceptional experiences from day one.
- Work closely with City Football Group, Valor Hospitality and Radisson Hotel Group — benefitting from strong support while retaining local ownership and autonomy within the wider hotel team.
