The team works closely with colleagues across the Corporate, Commercial, Family, and Personal Injury departments, advising on a broad range of pensions-related matters, including:

  • Scheme mergers and restructuring
  • Corporate transactions and pensions implications
  • Buy-ins and buyouts
  • Member complaints and disputes

The team’s client base includes private individuals, employers, and pension scheme trustees, offering exposure to a diverse range of high-quality work.

This role will involve working alongside a highly experienced Partner, who has nearly 30 years of expertise in pensions law. Renowned for providing pragmatic, solutions-focused advice, he represents a varied client base, including trustee boards of trade union-sponsored pension schemes. Over time, there will be opportunities to undertake client-facing work, manage an agreed caseload, and further develop expertise in pensions law.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong client care skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive and organised approach to work

A strong academic record is essential, and prior experience in a similar role or a background in trade union pensions advisory work would be advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is also required.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist team within a highly regarded firm, gaining valuable hands-on experience and a clear path for career progression in a niche area of law.
