Our client, a well-respected law firm, is seeking a Paralegal to join their Pensions team within the Employment department in their Manchester office. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual at the early stages of their legal career who is keen to develop expertise in a specialist and evolving area of law.
The team works closely with colleagues across the Corporate, Commercial, Family, and Personal Injury departments, advising on a broad range of pensions-related matters, including:
- Scheme mergers and restructuring
- Corporate transactions and pensions implications
- Buy-ins and buyouts
- Member complaints and disputes
The team’s client base includes private individuals, employers, and pension scheme trustees, offering exposure to a diverse range of high-quality work.
This role will involve working alongside a highly experienced Partner, who has nearly 30 years of expertise in pensions law. Renowned for providing pragmatic, solutions-focused advice, he represents a varied client base, including trustee boards of trade union-sponsored pension schemes.
The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training and supervision, assisting on a range of pension-related matters. Responsibilities will include:
- Providing timely and effective legal support to clients
- Drafting legal documents and written advice
- Maintaining accurate case management records
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Supporting the wider team on pension litigation and dispute resolution
Over time, there will be opportunities to undertake client-facing work, manage an agreed caseload, and further develop expertise in pensions law.
