HR Business Partner

Location: Hybrid / Manchester – Macclesfield (one day in Central Manchester per week, one day in Macclesfield per month)

Contract: Fixed Term Contract, 15 Months

Medlock Partners are partnering with a well-established, global consultancy supporting pharmaceutical and life sciences clients across the product lifecycle.

The business is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to support day-to-day operations and drive impactful HR initiatives. Reporting to the People Director, you\’ll play a key role in enhancing employee engagement, improving processes, and delivering HR best practice across the business.

Key responsibilities of the HR Business Partner:

  • Lead on employee relations including performance, disciplinary, grievances, and leave.
  • Coach and support line managers on people-related issues.
  • Drive engagement, retention, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver training needs analysis and develop training/coaching plans.
  • Support data integration projects, payroll oversight, and TUPE processes.
  • Lead on HR data reporting (e.g. exit/stay interviews, absence trends).
  • Manage and review HR policies, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Line management of HR admin support.
  • Oversee HR service delivery, internal wellbeing/EDI initiatives, and reward programs.

Key requirements of the HR Business Partner:

  • Proven generalist HR experience, ideally in a fast-paced or regulated environment.
  • Strong background in employee relations and coaching leaders.
  • Confidence managing policies, procedures, and legal compliance.
  • Experience working with payroll and benefit providers.
  • Skilled in using HR data to support business decisions.
  • Passion for fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
