Divisional Director – Medlock Partners (Specialist in Senior Finance Appointments)

Role: Group Finance Manager (route to FC, ideal 2nd time move)

Reports to: Finance Director

Location: Lancashire

Following a recent restructure, Medlock Partners are delighted to be exclusively partnering our client, a rapidly expanding and successful Group in the Chorley area as they look to appoint a qualified and technically competent Finance Manager.

Reporting to a hugely impressive Finance Director, the Finance Manager will manage the day to day running of the finance team, ensuring timely management accounts across the group, including overseeing all transactional processing activity.

Main Responsibilities;

  • Responsibility for all day-to-day accounting operations of the Group
  • Preparation of the Group’s budgets and financial forecasting and reporting of any variances
  • Preparing and publishing all management accounts for the trading subsidiaries with support from the Management Accountants
  • Documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls
  • Overseeing the management of cash flow, debt and debt collection
  • Supervising and managing the finance team, with 4 direct reports
  • Overseeing the audit process and liaising with external stakeholders, including managing the relationship with the Bank
  • Support the business with the financial strategy and decision-making processes
  • Presenting reports to senior executives and board members
  • Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met

Key skills and experience

  • A qualified accountant, preferably audit background with experience of delivering management accounts
  • IT literate, with advanced excel skills
  • Have a sound knowledge of financial and operational controls
  • Be a dynamic self starter who enjoys the challenge of multi tasking
  • Possess excellent people management skills; comfortable in collaborating with other departments and an ability to present financial information to a non financial audience in a way they understand
  • Be highly numerate and commercially minded, with strong strategic planning skills
  • Adept at seeing tasks through to completion
  • Inquisitive and detail orientated

The ideal candidate will be a confident, ambitious ACCA/ACA Accountant with strong management experience, a keen eye for detail and an audit background.
