An award-winning international law firm is looking to appoint a Senior Associate (4+ PQE) to its Corporate Finance team in London, as part of an ambitious growth strategy for its City offering. This is a rare opportunity to take a front-seat role advising on complex M&A, public takeovers, IPOs and UK capital markets transactions for an enviable roster of listed clients.
The Opportunity
This is an ideal platform for a technically strong and commercially savvy lawyer who enjoys high-stakes transactions and advising PLCs on their most strategic matters. You’ll be joining a collaborative, high-performing corporate team trusted by FTSE 100/250 boards, investment banks and international clients alike.
The Team
- One of the most active UK public company practices , advising on over a third of all takeovers in 2023.
- Longstanding relationships with corporates including bp, Diageo, JD Sports, HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group, ABF and Entain .
- Over 200 transactions closed annually across 40+ jurisdictions – spanning public M&A, private M&A, ECM and advisory mandates.
- Recognised strength in capital markets and listed company advisory – with three partners having served at the Takeover Panel.
Key Work Areas
- Public M&A – extensive exposure to UK Takeover Code-driven transactions and high-profile cross-border deals.
- Equity Capital Markets – IPOs and secondary fundraisings for UK corporates and investment banks.
- Advisory – ESG, D&I, listing rules, governance and C-suite board advisory work.
- Strategic M&A – advising on transformational domestic and international deals across all sectors.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum 4 years' PQE from a leading UK or international firm.
- Strong grounding in corporate finance – ideally with experience in UK ECM, takeovers and listed company advisory.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including UK Listing Rules, Prospectus Regulation, MAR and the Takeover Code .
- Proven ability to lead workstreams, support client relationships and mentor junior team members.
