The Opportunity
A top-tier international law firm is seeking a Corporate Associate (3-7 PQE) to join its London Corporate team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious M&A and corporate governance specialist to work on high-value, cross-border transactions across a broad range of sectors.
The firm has a strong reputation in corporate law, ranking consistently in the top 10 for UK M&A deal volume and acting for an impressive roster of public and private clients. This role offers exposure to strategic corporate transactions, including M&A (public and private), IPOs, private equity, fundraisings, and joint ventures.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in complex corporate transactions, advising on a range of matters, including:
- M&A (public and private) β advising on share and asset sales, acquisitions, and disposals.
- Corporate governance and board advisory work β advising public and private businesses on regulatory and compliance matters.
- Equity capital markets and private equity transactions β experience in these areas would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Joint ventures, restructurings, and strategic partnerships across multiple sectors.
- Supporting business development initiatives to help grow the corporate practice in the City.
The London Corporate team is well-established, with 16 partners and legal directors supporting an ambitious growth strategy. The firm is investing heavily in lateral hires and strategic expansion to enhance its City presence further.
Key Requirements
- 3-5 yearsβ PQE with experience gained in a top-tier City or large regional law firm.
- Strong technical expertise in M&A (public or private) and corporate governance.
- Exposure to equity capital markets or private equity transactions is beneficial but not essential.
- A commercially focused approach, with an interest in business development.
- Excellent client management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- A strong academic background with excellent communication and organisational skills.
