Medlock Partners are partnering with a growing, family-run organisation to recruit a HR Partner to join their team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on HR professional to play a key role in supporting the business through its continued growth, providing pragmatic HR advice while helping to develop and enhance people practices across the organisation.

Working closely with senior leadership, you'll provide expert guidance across the full employee lifecycle, lead on employee relations matters, support recruitment and onboarding, and contribute to a range of people initiatives that support the business's long-term objectives. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation where people remain at the heart of the business. The role offers broad exposure across all aspects of generalist HR, with the opportunity to influence people strategy, support organisational growth, and drive continuous improvement within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities of the HR Partner:

  • Employee Relations & HR Advisory
    • Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees, providing practical and commercially focused HR advice.
    • Lead and manage employee relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, absence management, and other complex people matters.
    • Ensure all HR activity remains compliant with UK employment legislation and internal policies.
    • Build strong relationships with managers, providing coaching and guidance to develop people management capability.
  • Recruitment, Onboarding & HR Operations
    • Support recruitment activities, including drafting job descriptions, coordinating interviews, managing offers, and assisting with placement programmes.
    • Deliver a positive and structured onboarding experience for new employees.
    • Maintain accurate employee records and HR data, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data retention requirements.
    • Support payroll administration by providing accurate information relating to starters, leavers, and contractual changes.
  • People Development & Projects
    • Support annual people process, including appraisals, salary reviews, and succession planning.
    • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and employee documentation.
    • Support HR projects, including system improvements, wellbeing initiatives, employee engagement activities, and benefits programmes.
    • Identify and support opportunities that contribute to the continued growth and development of the business.

Key Requirements for the HR Partner:

  • Proven experience within a generalist HR Advisor or HR Partner/HR Manager position, ideally within an SME or fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.
  • Demonstrable experience managing a wide range of employee relations cases independently.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, including restructures and redundancy processes.
  • Ability to work autonomously while managing a varied workload.
  • Experience using HR systems and producing accurate HR data and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the business.
  • CIPD qualification or working towards accreditation would be advantageous.
