THE OPPORTUNITY
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function within a rapidly growing, international direct-to-consumer e-commerce business.
This is a hands-on financial controllership role with genuine ownership and influence.
You will be responsible for the integrity of the numbers from end to end, lead the month-end process, produce meaningful management information and help develop the finance infrastructure required to support continued growth.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director & CFO, you will have regular exposure to senior leadership, founders and external advisors.
You will also manage and develop a small, growing finance team, with the opportunity to shape the structure of the function as the business scales.
- YOUR KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Financial Control & Month-End
- You will take full ownership of the financial close process, ensuring the business has accurate and timely financial information.
- Lead the month-end close process from start to finish.
- Deliver an accurate P&L and balance sheet within 5–7 days of month end.
- Produce monthly management accounts and supporting analysis
- Establish and embed robust financial controls and standard operating procedures.
- International & Group Accounting
- Manage accounting across UK and US entities.
- Prepare and oversee group consolidation.
- Manage intercompany accounting and eliminations.
- Management Information & Commercial Reporting
- Prepare the monthly management reporting pack.
- Report on P&L, balance sheet and cash flow performance.
- Produce meaningful variance analysis and commentary.
- Cash, Treasury & Working Capital
- Prepare payment runs for approval.
- Oversee the accounts payable cycle.
- Monitor working capital performance.
- Tax, Compliance & Audit
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Coordinate corporate tax filings.
- Team Leadership & Development
- You will lead a small but growing finance team and set the standards for how the function operates.
