Legal Cashier // Manchester City Centre (office -based) // 6 months FTC (poss. of extension) Due to a busy period we are supporting our client, a high profile legal firm, as they look to appoint a Legal Cashier for a period of six months initially. This office-based, 35hrs per week role will offer excellent exposure to a fast-paced commercial environment and the chance to liaise with fee earners and other teams across the business. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the smooth financial operation of case closures and billing processes. Ideally, you\’ll have had experience working within a law firm in a similar role. However, applications from individuals who combine billing/cashiering experience in a professional services environment with some legal/conveyancing knowledge will also be considered. Duties: * Assisting with financial data and processes linked to the firm’s internal case tracking system * Reviewing and interpreting matter balances to support accurate and efficient file finalisation * Communicating effectively with legal teams and other internal departments to resolve finance-related queries * Preparing and submitting payment instructions for processing by the finance department * Drafting and issuing bills in accordance with case progress and client agreements * Handling adjustments and write-offs where required * Carrying out the financial steps needed to formally close completed matters Experience: * Previous experience in billing / cashiering role in a professional environment * Knowledge of Legal Sector Processes a and ideally SRA regulations * Strong analytical skills * Excellent eye for detail * Good excel skills * Excellent communication skills and a professional manner * A good understanding of the conveyancing process would be advantageous In return you will gain excellent exposure within a leading legal firm (Investors in People Accredited) and a generous benefits package including; 25 days’ holiday (pro-rata), office closure over Christmas, health insurance, income protection, early finish Fridays once a month, volunteering days , social and sports activities, mental health support and much more
