Medlock Partners are partnering with a leading law firm based in Leeds City Centre who are looking to hire a legal assistant to join their busy and fast-paced commercial property team. The successful person will have previous experience working within commercial property with the ability to communicate at all levels and have a good understanding of SDLT calculations.
Key responsibilities of the Legal Assistant - Commercial Property:
- Supporting the commercial property team with general administration
- Opening and closing of case files
- Handling client enquiries via telephone, email and post
- Liaising with clients updating them on sale progression and costs
- Ensuring SDLT obligations and land registry requirements are adhered to
- Conducting regular desk reviews of live matters, WIP client balances, highlighting any issues
- Developing and maintaining internal and external relationships
- Working in accordance with SRA regulations
Key requirements for the Legal Assistant - Commercial Property:
- Must have previous legal assistant experience within commercial property
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and adapt to change
- Strong systems skills and knowledge including MS Office, specifically Excel
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels within the company
- A solid understanding of SDLT calculations and land registry requirements
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail skills
