We are seeking a registered, highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our fantastic team. As an expert in the supply of medicines and accuracy checking, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Pharmacist and other Healthcare Professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical services to our patients. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for patient care and who are exceptional problem solvers.
About the role
- Responsible for the overseeing of Dispensing Team Members when asked to do so by the Responsible Pharmacist.
- Ordering medicines, checking, dispensing, and endorsing of prescriptions.
- Responsible for the final accuracy check of dispensed items before they are supplied to the patient.
- Involved in the preparation, supply and checking of prescriptions, providing advice and support.
- Involved in taking medicine histories from patients (and patient representatives where applicable) and giving advice on treatment options.
- Give advice and counsel patients and others about medicines use and know when to refer more complex queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
- Give advice to patients and patient representatives on over the counter medicines as well as other minor ailment products and devices.
- Have exceptional communication skills tailored to the individual patient, other healthcare professionals and team members.
- Exceptional team working skills.
- Has a working and exceptional grasp of current regulations and clinical standards for Pharmacy practice.
Experience
- At least 2 years post qualification experience as a Registered Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician with the GPhC.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Pharmacy Regulator (GPhC) with the recognised Accuracy Checking Qualification.
- A passion for patient and customer care.
- Ability to deliver high standards efficiently.
- Comfortable overseeing the dispensing team and offering support to the wider Healthcare Team including effective working relationship with the Pharmacist.
- Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Digitally knowledgeable and comfortable with navigating and embracing new technology.
- Embrace continuous learning and has a robust portfolio of continued professional development.
