The Opportunity
Medivet New Mills is located in a beautiful and thriving town within the High Peak. It offers amazing countryside views as far as the eye can see, teamed with choices of restaurants, traditional pubs and shops, along with a wide range of activities for all the family throughout the year. It has excellent transport links and the town is a popular gateway to the Peak District, very close to the National Trust’s Lyme Park, and makes the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Derbyshire countryside and local nature reserves.
New Mills practice has a friendly client base who appreciates the personal service we provide. The practice has our Branch Partner and 2 other Vets, a Practice Manager, RVN, and 2 Student Nurses along with a support team that are dedicated to our client and patient needs. We are lucky enough to have the support from our Buxton practice within the region, working closely together in partnership. You will therefore cover here 1 day per week too.
We are offering this as a fixed-term contract, working 5 days per week and 1 in 4 Saturdays (8:00 – 16:30).

Role Accountabilities
Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That’s the care for our patients, our clients, and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have.
In this role you will:
- Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
- Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
- Carry out nurse-led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
- Deliver patient monitoring and care.
- Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
- Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
- Dispense and check medication.
- Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
- Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.
Your Skills and Experience
- RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
- Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
- Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
- Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
- Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
