Medivet 24 Hour Woodstock is a modern, well‑equipped veterinary surgery and the hub of the Oxford region. We are committed to providing a high‑quality, good‑value, and honest veterinary service to all pets, both day and night. Located on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, Woodstock is a picturesque town with excellent access to Oxford city centre. The practice has recently been extended and refurbished, featuring a CT scanner and digital x‑ray facilities.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for emergency and critical care and will thrive on delivering gold‑standard patient and client care. You’ll be joining a team where every nurse’s opinion truly counts toward the care of our patients.
Your day will include a variety of nursing and surgical duties, working with interesting medical cases and receiving full support from our experienced and friendly team. You’ll bring a positive attitude and a desire to develop your skills and knowledge further within a supportive environment.
This is a full time position working 40 hours per week with a fair share of weekends.

Role Accountabilities
Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That’s the care for our patients, our clients and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have.
In this role you will:
- Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team.
- Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
- Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
- Lead, manage and promote nurse led appointments and Schedule 3 surgeries.
- Deliver patient monitoring and care.
- Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
- Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
- Dispense and check medication.
- Deliver professional excellence, implementing and complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
- Inspire your team, sharing new or evolving practice standards and changes to processes.
- Engage, coach and develop your team.
- Pro‑actively support and share clinical best practice across practices and the wider Medivet community.
Your Skills and Experience
- RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
- Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
- Able to confidently lead a clinical team.
- Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture through nurse clinics and nurse consultations.
- Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
