We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our teams at Merthyr Tydfil and Mountain Ash. We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon that enjoys both surgery and medicine, working alongside our surgery and dentistry certificate holder and our team of Vets and Nurses who actively undertake schedule 3 procedures. Merthyr Tydfil is a busy first opinion practice that sees a lot of ECC cases, with a large building that has 3 consulting rooms, operating theatre and imaging room. We work with VVS to support ultrasound scanning if required. Mountain Ash is a lovely town in the Valleys, situated near Merthyr Tydfil and well supported.
This role is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, with 3 days at Merthyr Tydfil and 1 day at Mountain Ash, with 1 in 4 Saturdays. We are open to discussing part-time arrangements. Please contact katherine.kingham@medivet.co.uk to discuss your ideal working pattern.

In This Role You Will- Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
- Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
- Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
- Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
- Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
- Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
- Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
- Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
- Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
- Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
- Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
- Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
