Overview
At Medivet Syston, we are hiring for a Head Veterinary Nurse. Our well-established Leicestershire practice has a wonderful team and a loyal client base. This is a full-time role working 5 days a week with 1:6 full weekends at Thurmaston 24 Hour Hospital. You’ll be joining a supportive, close-knit team who genuinely enjoy working together and are committed to providing outstanding care—while maintaining a balanced and positive working environment. Role Accountabilities

In This Role You Will
- Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
- Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
- Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
- Deliver patient monitoring and care.
- Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
- Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
- Dispense and check medication.
- Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
- Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.
Your Skills And Experience
- RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
- Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
- Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
- Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
- Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
