Medivet Welling is inviting applications for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join our vibrant branch in Welling, Greater London. As the lead clinician, you’ll guide and inspire your team while delivering exceptional, compassionate care. You’ll mentor, set clinical standards, and shape the future of patient care in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will work alongside a dedicated nursing team and practice manager, in an environment where patient welfare is paramount. You’ll promote clinical excellence, coach colleagues, and implement best practices across medicine, surgery and diagnostics. We seek someone RCVS-registered who brings experience in leading clinical teams, developing culture, supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients during consultations and procedures.
- Provide exceptional care to clients, with clear updates on patients.
- Maintain professional excellence, adhering to regulatory, practice and operational standards.
- Prepare accurate estimates for clients, ensure payment and minimise debt.
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager to maximise commercial performance with a focus on key measures.
- Engage, mentor and develop the team, enhancing skills and utilising them effectively.
- Inspire the team by sharing new or evolving practice standards and changes to processes.
- Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of patients needing out-of-hours or enhanced care.
- Proactively share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.
Your Skills And Experience
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
- Demonstrable clinical leadership skills.
- Experience delivering exceptional care to patients and clients.
- Understanding of how exceptional care improves the client experience.
- Experience implementing a progressive clinical culture.
- Experience delivering strong commercial performance through effective allocation of clinical activity.
