Overview
We are seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join our Frimley Green practice. You will work alongside Vlad, the newest member of our veterinary team, who brings a real passion for surgery. The practice are dedicated to providing compassionate care to every pet they see.
Amy is our amazing (and currently solo!) veterinary nurse. She’s doing a fantastic job juggling everything her role involves, and she’s on the lookout for a fellow nurse to join her and share the load.
Supporting our clinical team is Jess, our caring Patient Care Assistant, who’s always ready to lend a hand wherever she’s needed. You’ll also be welcomed by our friendly reception team – Mary and Rachel – who help keep everything running smoothly and ensure every client feels right at home. Finally we have Katie our Practice Manager who oversees the general running of the practice.
Our practice is well-equipped with an in-house laboratory, ultrasound, and X-ray facilities, allowing us to provide efficient and thorough care under one roof. We’re located in a lovely, peaceful corner of Frimley Green, tucked away from the hustle and bustle. It’s a calm and welcoming environment for both our clients and their pets.
Role type and schedule: This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week with 1:3 half weekends or 1:6 full weekends at Wokingham 24 hour. On call is 1 – 2 weeks per year and bank holidays are 1 – 2 per year.

- Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
- Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
- Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
- Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
- Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
- Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
- Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.
Your Skills And Experience
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
- Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
- Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
- Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
- Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
- Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
- Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
