Medivet Dorking is a well-established practice which provides a wide range of services. It is supported by our 24 hour hospital in Sutton and a network of neighbouring Medivet practices. The local region is filled with lots of fantastic vets and nurses who work together to solve cases, care for their patients and help each other to develop. The reception area has a separate waiting area for cats and dogs, along with two consult rooms. The practice is equipped with an X-ray machine, Dental X-ray, ultrasound and an in-house lab. The practice is a 10 minute walk from the local train station, Dorking and has lots of local shops to browse in your lunch break.

Role Accountabilities

Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That’s the care for our patients, our clients and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have. In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • If relevant: Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.
  • Providing mentorship.

Your Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
