Medivet Flitwick is seeking an experienced RVN to join our friendly team on a 12‑month maternity cover contract until January 2027. We are a 3‑vet first‑opinion practice with a supportive team of 6 RVNs and a CCA. This is a full‑time role working 40 hours per week over 5 days, with no weekends, bank holidays, or out‑of‑hours, offering an excellent work‑life balance.
We’re ideally looking for an RVN with at least 2 years’ post‑qualification experience. Nurses are encouraged to fully utilise their skills, including inpatient care and assisting with and transporting cases referred to our Watford Hospital. Flitwick train station is within walking distance, and you’ll be joining an experienced, supportive team that encourages learning and development.

Role Accountabilities:

In This Role You Will:
- Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
- Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
- Carry out nurse‑led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
- Deliver patient monitoring and care.
- Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
- Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
- Dispense and check medication.
- Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
- Hold briefings to engage and co‑ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.
Your Skills And Experience:
- RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
- Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
- Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
- Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
- Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
