Overview
This is the ideal role for a confident, capable vet who enjoys the balance of working independently while being part of a wider supportive network. You will experience a diverse caseload, collaborate with multiple teams, and contribute to maintaining the high clinical standards Medivet is known for. Working a structured rota planned in advance, you will support practices local to you, with a mix of time at our hospital and up to four additional branches. The role is full time, consisting of four days per week with participation in the weekend rota, though part-time options can be considered for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional client care and manage client feedback and complaints.
- Carry out consultations, routine surgeries, admissions, discharges and patient monitoring.
- Ensure patient records are accurate, complete clinical handovers and prescribe medication under the guidance of the vet/lead vet.
- Accountable for compliance with all regulatory, practice and operational veterinary and nursing standards, health and safety requirements.
- Prepare accurate estimates, manage commercial performance and minimise debt.
- Engage in clinical meetings, mentoring development and share best practice within the Medivet community.
- Support lab test administration and coordinate with the Practice Manager as required.
Qualifications
- RCVS registered vet surgeon with a minimum of five years UK experience.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership, progressive clinical culture implementation and excellent client communication skills.
- Experience in delivering exceptional clinical care to patients, supporting nurse consults and coaching colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting across different practice environments.
- Positive approach, proactive problem solving and a passion for maintaining high standards of small animal care.
