We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Care Assistant to join our friendly and experienced team, supporting our busy hospital services at Woodstock and North Oxford. Medivet 24 Hour Woodstock is a modern, well‑equipped veterinary hospital and the central hub of the Oxford region. We are committed to providing high‑quality, honest veterinary care to pets day and night. Located on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds, Woodstock offers excellent access to Oxford city centre. Our recently refurbished hospital features advanced facilities including a CT scanner, digital radiography, and dedicated inpatient and emergency care areas.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to become a valued member of a supportive and collaborative team. As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play an important role in the day‑to‑day running of the hospital and practice. Duties will include:
- Supporting the nursing and veterinary teams
- Caring for inpatients
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Preparing equipment
- Assisting with patient handling
- Ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care and comfort throughout their stay

This is a permanent position working:
- Two 10‑hour shifts every weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
- Two additional shifts during the week, based at either Woodstock 24‑Hour Hospital or North Oxford Practice

About you: You’re skilled at providing exceptional client care and are passionate about caring for pets. This role is not suitable for young workers in line with Health and Safety Executive (government) direction due to the expected duties of the role. Therefore, you will be asked to confirm that you are over the age of 18 as part of the application process.
