Join our team at Medivet Bisley as our new Head Veterinary Nurse. Medivet Bisley is a community‐focused practice where pets and their owners are treated like family. Our team is known for its friendly approach, supportive atmosphere, and genuine passion for providing exceptional care.
As a Head Nurse you will be responsible for the clinical leadership of the nursing team ensuring we deliver exceptional care to our clients, patients and colleagues while maintaining the highest standards of clinical, regulatory and operational compliance.
With access to Medivet’s hub-and-spoke model, complex cases can be referred to our nearby 24‐hour hospital in Wokingham giving you access to advanced diagnostics, specialist teams, and a wider clinical network, modern equipment and clear development pathways. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your leadership skills and make a meaningful impact.
As part of Medivet’s hub‐and‐spoke model, you’ll also spend an 8‐hour shift in our 24‐hour hospital in Wokingham every fourth weekend, alternating between Saturdays and Sundays. You will also participate in the on-call rota for our Wokingham 24-hour Hospital.
This provides a valuable opportunity to experience a fast‐paced clinical environment, work alongside experienced hospital teams, and get hands‐on with more complex cases. It’s a great way to broaden your clinical skills, build confidence with advanced procedures, and continue your nursing career.

What you’ll be doing
Typically, in this role, you’ll:
- Deliver exceptional care to patients, leading nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities, supporting consults, surgeries and procedures, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards
- Deliver patient monitoring and care, and manage admissions and discharges
- Deliver exceptional care to your clients
- Provide clinical leadership, inspiration and development to the nursing team
