We have a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and loyal team, working across our Medivet Redruth and Medivet St Ives practices in beautiful Cornwall.

About the PracticesOur Redruth practice is a spacious and well-equipped site featuring four consulting rooms, two theatres, ultrasound, dental x-ray, digital x-ray, and separate dog and cat isolation wards. We’re proud to hold Silver Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation, reflecting our commitment to a calm and considerate environment for feline patients. The practice also benefits from on-site parking and a lovely garden space for staff to enjoy during breaks. Medivet St Ives is a compact, well-organised and welcoming surgery, with two consulting rooms, a fully equipped theatre and prep area, in-house laboratory for haematology and biochemistry, digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental equipment, and separate dog and cat kennels. There’s also a spacious reception, staff room and car park, ensuring a smooth and comfortable working day.
About The TeamAt Redruth, you’ll join a close-knit, supportive team led by two dedicated Branch Partners who are passionate about clinical excellence and professional development. The practice is supported by a large and experienced nursing team, including a highly skilled Head Nurse, as well as longstanding support staff who bring stability, teamwork and pride to everything they do. At St Ives, the team includes a highly experienced Head Nurse, a Registered Veterinary Nurse and a Client Care Assistant — all of whom have built strong relationships with a loyal client base and are committed to delivering exceptional care. Across our three-practice collective, you’ll be part of a wider network of seven experienced vets, several of whom are currently studying towards certificates in Small Animal Medicine, Cardiology and Orthopaedics. This creates a stimulating and collaborative environment with plenty of opportunity for growth, learning and mentorship.
About YouWe are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon, ideally with a minimum of three years’ UK experience, who is confident working sole charge (particularly at St Ives) and comfortable with routine surgeries, diagnostics and consultations. You’ll be a team player who enjoys building long-term client relationships and contributing positively to the wider team.
The RoleThis is a permanent full-time role, working 40 hours per week, with participation in the Saturday rota (1 in 3 Saturdays, 8:30am–12:30pm). There are no out-of-hours or bank holiday requirements, and you will only be working 4 days per week, thus providing an excellent work-life balance and the opportunity to fully embrace Cornwall’s relaxed and outdoor lifestyle. The position offers a balanced mix of time between our Redruth and St Ives practices, allowing for varied caseloads, continuity of care and the chance to work within two supportive and well-established teams.
