Calling all animal lovers! Do you love spending time with animals as much as you do with customers? This is an opportunity to make a real difference to every pet and every client - yours will be the first face to greet them after all. As well as looking after the reception area and ensuring a great welcome for our clients, you’ll be handling payments, processing repeat prescription requests and managing appointments.

This role requires evenings & weekend availability on a shift pattern.

Role Accountabilities:
Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That’s the care for our patients, our clients and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have. In this role you will:
- Ensure the practice is ready for opening and closing, managing tills and card machines, alarms, voicemail, and systems.
- Triage the impact of any emergency appointments, contacting clients to arrange an alternative appointment where necessary.
- Manage the practice diary to ensure appointment availability is aligned to best practice and available skillset.
- Ensure appointment slots are available for clients to book.
- Carry out reception duties, greeting clients on arrival, and updating records.
- Process any repeat prescription order requests.
- Ensure online practice information is up to date, with accurate opening hours and current colleagues.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Excellent client facing and reception skills.
- Experience of working as part of a team and building positive working relationships.
- Client care skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and be diplomatic when needed.
- Animal handling skills.
- Able to prioritise a range of tasks and own workload.
- Good numeracy skills, with the ability to manage payments and cash up.
- Experience in using online appointment booking systems.
- Administration skills and experience.
- Trustworthy and responsible.
Desirable:
- Previous veterinary receptionist experience.
- Social media/website content management.
