Looking for a supportive practice where you can develop your skills and enjoy a great balance of autonomy and teamwork?
Medivet Newcastle-under-Lyme is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, well-established team. This is a varied GP role , ideal for a vet who enjoys a mixture of consulting, medical and surgical cases and wants the opportunity to continue developing their clinical skills in a supportive environment.
You’ll work three days per week at our Newcastle-under-Lyme practice and one day per week at our Stoke-on-Trent practice , giving you the opportunity to work across two established teams. Our practices are well-equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory facilities and dedicated preparation and theatre space .
The role includes one/two days sole charge per week , but we know that this can sometimes put vets off applying. We want to be clear that you’re never without clinical support . During sole-charge periods, we’re looking for a vet who is confident managing consults and routine surgeries independently, but there is experienced clinical support available down the road whenever you need it . You’ll have the autonomy to work independently while knowing that support is close at hand.
We’re passionate about helping our vets progress and will support you to develop your clinical interests , with access to our clinical communities and opportunities for further training and certificates. We can also offer support with certificate funding, visa costs and relevant certification expenses , helping make your move to Medivet as straightforward as possible.
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week , with a future 1 in 3 Saturday rota (09:00–14:00) .
Your career means more than a rota and a job title, that’s why we offer:
