Are you a passionate ECC Vet looking to work in a busy, progressive hospital environment where you can really make the most of your emergency and critical care skills? Medivet Nantwich 24h is a specialist-led practice with an exciting opportunity for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our growing team.

This is a busy 24-hour clinic with an excellent and increasingly diverse caseload, as more referrals and emergency cases continue to feed into the practice from both from within and outside of our practice network. As the sole charge Vet on shift, you’ll work alongside a highly supportive nursing team who are passionate for outstanding patient care in both our dog and cat specific wards and theatres.

The practice is exceptionally well equipped, with access to CT, a mobile MRI scanner, and a wide range of other diagnostic and treatment equipment, including endoscopy and high definition ultrasound machine. In addition, our anaesthetic monitoring equipment is advanced with arterial lines and ventilators. This is a fantastic environment for a Vet who enjoys working cases through, managing emergencies and developing their clinical skills in a collaborative setting.

The role is based on a 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota, working 7pm–9am, with a paid lunch break. This provides a great balance between an engaging night caseload and plenty of time away from the practice.

This role is on average weekly hours of 32.6 hours so the prorated salary would be between £52,975 - £69,275 per year depending on experience.

Your career means more than a rota and a job title, that’s why we offer:

Health and wellbeing

  • Private Medical Insurance and Health Cash Plan from day one
  • 24/7 counselling and wellbeing support
  • Life Assurance 3 x salary

Learning and development

  • £1,500 CPD allowance plus 3 days’ paid leave per year (pro-rated)
  • Access to Clinical Communities, internal CPD and our 24-hour hospitals
  • Funded certificates and internal career pathways

Additional support

  • RCVS, VDS and BVA fees paid
  • Relocation support and Visa sponsorship available
  • Sabbatical options based on length of service

Lifestyle

  • Cycle to Work
  • Season Ticket loans
  • Discounts on Medivet products and services

About you

You’re a qualified MRCVS with a passion for clinical excellence and client care with previous sole charge experience in an emergency critical care setting. You’re a team player who wants to make a real difference in a practice that values and supports you.

What you’ll be doing

Typically, in this role, you’ll:

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients in consults and surgery to the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance
  • Develop tailored treatment plans with clients
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive team
