Medivet Cheshunt is a well-established, cat-friendly practice situated in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire. We are seeking a Head Veterinary Nurse to join us in a full-time maternity cover contract. You will be working alongside a fantastic team, led by our Branch Partner, Lindsay. We can offer you lots of opportunity for nurse clinics and we will support you with training and internal CPD to build confidence and develop your consulting skills. We also have a bespoke nutritional ambassador programme! To help your clinical passions flourish, we have created clinical communities where vets and nurses with shared interests can connect and collaborate on a regular basis!

Role Accountabilities

  • Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team.
  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Lead, manage and promote nurse led appointments and Schedule 3 surgeries.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, implementing and complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Inspire your team, sharing new or evolving practice standards and changes to processes.
  • Engage, coach and develop your team.
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice across practices and the wider Medivet community.
Your Skills and Experience
  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Able to confidently lead a clinical team.
  • Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture through nurse clinics and nurse consultations.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
