Want the autonomy to be the vet you want to be — with the support to keep progressing?
Medivet Frimley Green is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, community-focused practice where you’ll have the freedom to develop your own clinical interests, backed by experienced vets, structured mentorship and a strong local hospital network.
This is a role for a vet who wants more than simply turning up and working through a consult list.
You’ll have your own practice team and client base, while also being part of a closely connected group of five local Medivet practices, each supported by an experienced Lead Vet and an experienced Partner across the group.
Build the career you actually want
Whether you want to become more confident in a particular area, work towards a certificate, develop a clinical interest or progress into leadership, we want to help you build a pathway that works for you.
You’ll have regular 1:1s focused on your development, caseload, wellbeing and career ambitions, alongside ongoing support from your Lead Vet and Partner.
The aim is simple: to give you clear support and progression without taking away your clinical autonomy.
More support. More clinical experience. More people to learn from.
Being part of a five-practice group gives you access to a much broader pool of clinical knowledge than you might find in a standalone practice.
You’ll have opportunities to:
- Discuss challenging or interesting cases with colleagues across the group
- Learn from vets with different clinical interests and strengths
- Access mentorship from experienced Lead Vets
- Receive additional clinical and leadership support from the group Partner
- Develop your own clinical interests and work towards further qualifications
- Build towards more senior clinical or leadership roles if that’s where you want your career to go
You’ll still have the familiarity and continuity of working within your own practice, but with a much bigger clinical network behind you.
Community practice backed by a 24-hour hospital
Frimley Green is a welcoming, community-focused first-opinion practice with a loyal client base and a strong reputation for delivering excellent patient care.
Through Medivet’s hub-and-spoke model, you’ll also have direct access to our nearby 24-hour hospital in Wokingham.
For more complex cases, you can draw on advanced diagnostics, modern equipment, experienced hospital teams and a wider clinical network.
It gives you the confidence to manage an interesting and varied first-opinion caseload while knowing that additional expertise and facilities are available when you need them.
As part of the role, you’ll spend one weekend in six at our 24-hour hospital in Wokingham, giving you exposure to a broader and more varied caseload.
You’ll also participate in the on-call and Bank Holiday rota.
For vets who want to continue developing clinically, this provides a valuable opportunity to work alongside experienced hospital colleagues, see more complex cases and bring those skills back into your day-to-day first-opinion work.
Who are we looking for?
We’d love to hear from a Veterinary Surgeon who:
- Values clinical autonomy but also wants a strong support network
- Enjoys being part of a collaborative team
- Wants to continue developing clinically
- Is interested in building their own clinical strengths or areas of interest
- Values regular feedback, mentorship and career development
- Takes pride in delivering excellent patient and client care
- Wants a role with genuine opportunities to progress
You might know exactly where you want your career to go next, or you might simply know that you want to keep developing.
Either way, we’ll work with you to help shape that next step
Your career means more than a rota and a job title, that’s why we offer:
